Very good (and interesting) points, Alan. ;-) Digital lit can be amazingly freeing and tremendously flexible.

And it landed me a multi-book deal with St. Martin's Press for my YA paranormal series 13 to Life (launching in 2010). Rich? Nope (except in excitement and fresh opportunity).

But I'm a big supporter of sites like Textnovel.com (where I won the Grand Prize in 2008). My abbreviated and serialized version of 13 to Life is still available for free there, and although it changed significantly from cellphone novel to paperback, it was born on a whim and grew first on the internet. :-)

Have fun experimenting with digital lit--you never know where it'll take you!

Ten great reasons and I share them all. Coming from a visual arts and film/video-making background, I would add to (7): because images are not enough, even moving images that talk.
