new book coming: Literary Art in Digital Performance
hi friends,
A few of you I’m sure know about this already, but for those who don’t, Francisco J. Ricardo has put together a remarkable new book which will be published by Continuum in 2-3 weeks. Titled Literary Art in Digital Performance: Case Studies in New Media Art and Criticism, the book–which viagra no prescription is based on a conference Roberto Simanowski engineered at Brown in 2007 called Reading Digital Literature–”examines electronic works of literary art, a category integrating the visual+textual including interactive poetry, narrative computer games, filmic sculpture, projective art, and other works specific to digital media. In recent decades, electronic art’s aesthetic has been
driven by new algorithmic, randomized, and emergent processes”. As detailed on the website (http://www.continuumbooks.com/books/detail.aspx?BookId=133289&SearchType=Basic), the book contains writings and dialogues by Ricardo, Simanowski, Rita Raley, N. Katharine Hayles, Christopher T. Funkhouser, Katja Kwastek, Maria Bäcke, Jorgen Schafer, Peter Gendolla, and John Cayley. Looks wonderful!
